You Imagine the Wilderness
Prose Poem
You imagine the wilderness.
The wilderness is not as jagged as the city. It has strong bones, hard muscles, covered by thin skin. Yellow grasses are its fur. When cars pass through, they stirring and rustling.
You see the wilderness. The big river is a vein inside its body, beating. People decorate its orange soil with red flowers, while it sears them with shimmering black sands and purple crystals. People twist and fight back, writhing with the wilderness. They rip out the other's veins, tear down their own muscles.
You rush into their fight. The blood of the people mixes with the blood of the wilderness, flowing into your mouth, pungent as liquor, sweet like wine.
